This program acts on an HTML document, counting the number of occurrences of words and how they are used, and produces a keywords meta tag for the document. It ignores common words such as 'this', and the resulting meta tag depends on user-specified weights assigned to boldface words, etc. It can be used with documents which use cascading style sheets or which have lots of embedded javascript, and it works with non-English text such as Spanish.

This program acts on an HTML document, counting the number of occurrences of words and how they are used, and produces an appropriate keywords meta tag for the document. It ignores user-specified words and common words such as 'this', and the resulting keywords meta tag depends on user-specified weights assigned to boldface words, words within headings, etc. This program also ignores anything in the body of the document which is within HTML tags, within comments or within SCRIPT or STYLE tags so it can be used with HTML documents which use cascading style sheets, have lots of embedded javascript or were generated by some WYSIWYG web page creator. Supports EM, STRONG, DIV and SPAN tags. The program works with HTML documents in French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, as well as in English.
